Two Souls, One Story:
A Wedding of
Traditions
ISURU & ILLAN, ADDINGTON PALACE,UK
ABOUT THE WEDDING
Isuru and Illan’s wedding at the stunning Addington Palace was a truly remarkable celebration that beautifully blended Sri Lankan Tamil and Sinhalese traditions. The day was a perfect reflection of their shared heritage and deep love for one another.
The morning began with a vibrant Tamil wedding ceremony, full of rich symbolism, colorful florals, and sacred rituals. It was deeply moving and spiritual, with family traditions honored at every step.
In the afternoon, the celebration transitioned into a traditional Sinhalese Poruwa ceremony in full Kandyan attire. The ornate Poruwa platform set the stage for a ceremony filled with meaningful customs—offering betel leaves, tying the Pirith Noola thread, and walking around the oil lamp together, all symbolizing unity and blessings for their new life.
Addington Palace’s historic charm and lush grounds made the perfect backdrop for a day full of culture, joy, and connection. Capturing these two beautiful ceremonies—and all the moments in between—was an absolute honor.
